Z's a STAR! Crazy week is over. I stand for peace and justice, do you?
Ok, I think it's time to update again. Today Zahida was on City TV for her toy collection campaign with the Youth Millennium Project. It was hilarious to see! She didn't get much airtime but the kids were so cute. I like the one girl's (Riley's) remark: "I've moved on in life, I'm so past toys." Classic.
This last week has been hectic. On Monday I completed 75% of my Social Psyc. course. I took tests for 7 chapters and did a project that summarized the entire course in "mind map" form. From Wednesday to Friday @ 2 am I didn't sleep finishing term papers. Most nights I was at school till 10, got home at 2am a few days. It was nuts, I'm glad to be in exams now, I can relax! That sounds wrong.
Not much time to go around right now - it's the end of school and I am completely swamped. Typical Rick style...
I just thought that I would update this, it has been awhile! I'll write something of substance later. Here's what I'm thinking:
- A few book reviews...I actually read a lot this year! I think I'll write about No Logo, Amusing Ourselves to Death, the Death of Ivan Illyich and maybe a few technical books (Home Recording for Dummies...)
- Speaking of recording, I got a 16 track mixer and I'm pumped. Maybe pictures will follow! I'll be sure to fool around with everything in a week or two. I also will have some mics soon. I think that I'm going to build myself a desk as well as rewire a few things...should be a fun project!
Funny Modern Propeganda
For once I'm actually enjoying a forward! I thought that I'd put it up. Also, this relates to the "stress" posting...stress + me = procrastination.
Also... there are some T Shirts! Sweet. There are also other parodies...fun stuff.

If you spot terrorism, blow your anti-terrorism whistle. If you are Vin Diesel, yell really loud.
About 24 hours to go till war breaks out and things get crazy[er]. It's an odd time to be writing a list of concerts to go to but who cares. At least doing this got my mind off of the stress of school for a few minutes. I think I'll write up a list of books I've read in the last year next... without further ado...
My Concert Calender
March 22: Stabilo Boss with Lotus Child and Iras @ UBC Pit Pub
Should be a great night – Z and her cohort are putting the show on, the $ going to a great cause and lots of friends will be there
March 27: Sound Tribe Sector 9 @ Atlantis
Yup, it’s that time of the semester again - the time where I have to play catch-up. Looks like I'll be at school late EVERY night! To complicate things my car is screwed royally after some Surrey "entrepreneurs" decided to try and steal it...I with they did! At least with the ICBC crap I might get cash for the piece of shit, rather than paying a $300 deductible.
Speaking of money, I'm broke. It's very bad - I have about $100 and Dave Matthews Band tickets are on sale plus there's summer semester to pay for, not to mention possible new car costs...things aren't exactly looking up. Hopefully I'll be able to dig myself out of debt during the summer. (School’s part time for those who don't know)
I'm sitting in computers class completely bored out of my skull - I do not feel like programming visual basic right now!
Anyways, a lot has been on my mind as of late...it caused me to write a few emails. Basically, a lot has gone on with me and I want the people who knew me inside and out before to know me just as well now. Last night I started reading Victor Frankl's "Man's Search For Meaning". In fact, the book is with me now. It's a psyc book about how people need to have meaning and purpose in their lives. Frankl is a survivor of the Holocaust - he lost his wife, family - EVERYTHING. He was reduced to a number, starved and forced to do unbearable work. Still, amongst this great repression he found hope and meaning. In small ways, he found that he could make small decisions.
well, this is my first try at blogging...have nothing much to say right now. Waiting for Zahida to come over on the bus, my car just died! Listening to the "whirl" of the computer fan while procrastinating on homework.
